Q

Are there any driving restrictions on the rental?

A

The average mileage you can drive on your rental car is 200 kilometers per day. If the mileage exceeds 30 kilometers, 6,000 yen will be charged, and an additional 200 yen will be charged for each additional kilometer.

Example 1: Rental for 2 days, driving 460 kilometers

Rental period: 2 days
Daily driving range: 200 kilometers
Total travel distance: 2 days × 200 km = 400 km
Actual distance traveled: 460 kilometers
Exceeding distance: 460 km - 400 km = 60 km
According to the terms, the excess 60 kilometers will be divided into two parts:

Within 30 kilometers: 6,000 yen
Remaining 30 kilometers: An additional 200 yen will be charged for each additional kilometer, calculated as 30 kilometers × 200 yen = 6,000 yen
Final cost:
6,000 yen (charge for additional 30 kilometers) + 6,000 yen (charge for additional 30 kilometers) = 12,000 yen

Example 2: Rental for 3 days, driving 650 kilometers

Rental period: 3 days
Driving range per day: 200 kilometers
Total travel distance: 3 days × 200 km = 600 km
Actual distance traveled: 650 kilometers
Exceeding distance: 650 km - 600 km = 50 km
The additional 50 kilometers are divided into two parts:

Within 30 kilometers: 6,000 yen
Remaining 20 kilometers: An additional 200 yen will be charged for each additional kilometer, calculated as 20 kilometers × 200 yen = 4,000 yen
Final cost:
6,000 yen (charge for additional 30 kilometers) + 4,000 yen (charge for additional 20 kilometers) = 10,000 yen

Example 3: Rental for 5 days and travel 1,020 kilometers

Rental period: 5 days
Driving range per day: 200 kilometers
Total travel distance: 5 days × 200 km = 1,000 km
Actual distance traveled: 1,020 kilometers
Exceeding distance: 1,020 km - 1,000 km = 20 km
The additional 20 kilometers will only be counted as a component:

Within 30 kilometers: 6,000 yen
Final cost:
6,000 yen (charge beyond 30 kilometers) = 6,000 yen

Example 4: Lease for 7 days and travel 1,250 kilometers

Rental period: 7 days
Driving range per day: 200 km
Total travel distance: 7 days × 200 km = 1,400 km
Actual distance traveled: 1,250 kilometers
Beyond distance: 1,250 km - 1,400 km = no additional charge
In this example, since the actual distance traveled is less than the total travelable distance (i.e. 1,400 km), no additional charges are required.
