As the successor to the TOYOTA 86, the GR86 has undergone an evolution with the GR branding, sporting a new 2.4-liter horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine (codenamed FA24), which replaces the previous 2.0-liter version. It achieves 235 horsepower and a maximum torque of 25.5 kgfm, addressing the low-end torque issues of its predecessor. To enhance the GR86’s handling, the body and chassis have been comprehensively strengthened. In pursuit of lightness, the roof, bonnet, and fenders are made from aluminum materials, keeping the weight at 1,270KG and ensuring that the GR86 retains its combative edge while offering exceptional fun to drive.
