The 1999 Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition (often referred to as Evo 6.5) was introduced to celebrate Finnish rally driver Tommi Mäkinen’s four consecutive World Rally Championship titles from 1996 to 1999. Based on the Lancer Evolution V released that year, this limited edition featured a modified front bumper without fog lights for improved aerodynamics. The ride height was lowered by 10mm, and the steering gear ratio was adjusted for quicker response. Inside, it boasted custom red Recaro seats, red instrument panel, Enkei wheels reminiscent of rally cars, and a circular exhaust outlet. In terms of performance, the Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition utilized aluminum and titanium alloy turbochargers, enhancing responsiveness. These unique modifications, combined with its rarity, made the Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen highly sought after by automotive enthusiasts
